A Website Case Study - CodingBeings
Industry: Film, music and cultural education | Role: Senior WordPress Developer & Coordinator | Stack: WordPress, Avada, Fusion Builder, PHP, JavaScript
The Idea
Take Me to the River had grown beyond a documentary into a wider cultural initiative spanning music, artists, live performances, education and press. The rebuild needed to turn those connected stories into one coherent website for fans, concertgoers, educators, journalists and industry partners.
What I Built
I led the WordPress rebuild as Senior WordPress Developer and project coordinator. I owned the development work and integrations, translated requirements during direct client calls, and collaborated with a frontend specialist on presentation details.
One platform for film, music and cultural storytelling
The content experience brought the documentary, soundtrack, videos, artist profiles and filmmaker information into a consistent branded journey. Visitors could move naturally from the project story to the people, performances and media behind it.
Tour promotion and event discovery
Tour calendars, event information and performance galleries gave concertgoers a focused way to discover live activity and revisit past appearances. The event experience was integrated into the main site instead of feeling like a separate tool.
Education and media access treated as core journeys
Educational resources, downloadable materials and a structured press kit gave teachers, students and media professionals direct access to the content they needed. These audiences were supported as primary users rather than secondary additions.
Audience engagement without a fragmented experience
Newsletter signup, contact pathways, responsive navigation and reusable Avada/Fusion components kept the many content areas connected. The result was a manageable WordPress platform with a consistent experience across desktop and mobile.
Platform Architecture
WordPress provided the content core, while the Avada child theme, Fusion Builder and focused plugins delivered film, music, video, tour, gallery, education, press and engagement experiences.
